To be used in a module or on a page. If the latter, I believe that Live Content from Mandeeps.com will do this.

Ach! mandeeps.com ...

Please have a look at this page, I am currently developing  on IE and Firefox, you see the difference?
Further hier: The map on the bottom of the page appears in their ToolTip, once you rollover the text "Anfahrtswege". The texts on the right side of the map loose their formats.

Maybe therer is a solution for this problems, but I get no support from minddeeps.com at all!
Well I complained by snowcovered, where I have purchased the product. They offered me their support, 3 days are already went by, still no answer.

I am about to cry, the project should get ready go online by June 15th. With this bugs, it isn't possible!  As the last solution I decided to forget about the paied money, wasted time to learn about it, and use another product, and as a case of the matter, from another company.

Hope there are other recommandations, or maybe a solution for this problems?!

Thanks and kind regards

I did look at the page.  Are you using the More Than Tooltip module?

Yes I do. What I must do, is making a tooltip like Telerik's one. I do have the Telerik's collection, but do not know how to make a DNN module from them? The end of module tutorils will be too late for me!

I'm not familiar with that module.  Is there someone who knows about it?

I am not familiar with the module either, have you tried asking in the main DotNetNuke forum as well? I hope you find a solution to your problem, please let us know what you find, thanks,

My problems are SOLVED!

Hello and thanks for the kind considerations. There was a lake of communication with mandeeps.com, my support requests had never reached them. By the time now I could fix my problems, through the support of mandeeps.com as a matter of the course.

The cause of the problem with different TT positions in different browser was JUST the skin, and an unsuitable CSS property for Firefox, Safari, etc. I just removed a "height:14px;" from the very top Layer's CSS property! That was it!

The cause of the secound problem is the container of the module (printalbe container).

By the time now I say: More than ToolTip from mandeeps.com is an excellent module, the support is absolutely complete and I recommand it to those who want to give their DNN site a very modern and hightech look, and get ride of borring a "just text and picture page".

Thanks

Are there any good site wide tooltips (non-module specific)?

I found this one which looked very promising, but I got response saying that they discontinued support for the module:
http://www.snowcovered.com/Snowcove...ageID=5047

I don't particularly mind this fact, but the trial version does not work with DNN 5.0.1. I am thinking about purchasing the source code and trying to fix the problem myself; however, if there is an easier route, I would much prefer to take it.

Thanks.

You might want to take a look at the module available at mandeeps.com.  I haven't used that module, but I have used some of their other modules.

Hello smallwatersupply,

I have purchased the Enterprise Edition and recently installed it on 5.0.1. It works excellent as before. Maybe the trial version isn't still been updated. Better you ask the mandeep's support, at the bottom of the page on Snowcovered you will see the link ask a question. mandeep's support is really friendly and you will get a detailed support.

Thanks for the suggestions, but I was already aware of mandeeps.com's "More Than Tooltips". The problem with the tooltip software offered by mandeep is that the tooltips do not extend site-wide (that is if I understand correctly).

What I'm trying to do is to create a site-wide glossary to help people understand technical terms or abbreviations. In other words, my employer should be able to write a blog entry and include technical terms in the entry. When he views the blog entry after he's saved his post, the terms should be automatically replaced with text that includes tooltips.

Thanks again.

I'm quite sure that I've seen a module that will do something like that - replace words of special text with links or popups.  Hopefully, someone remembers the name of it!

Was the module named iFinity Inline Link Master?! I haven't gotten to test the module out yet, but I think this might be exactly what I was looking for. I'm really glad that the product is from iFinity as well (their modules seem stable, robust, and have a try before you buy policy attached to them).

I guess I was determined to find something related to "tooltips" but hadn't spent enough time looking for a "replace text" module instead. Thanks for your hint jncraig!

Well ... it could be!  (I just looked at iFinity's site, and it mentions a lot of the items that I remember.)  If you use it, please give us a mini-review.

Hi - I'm the author of the Inline Link Master module. Yes, you can certainly use it to create a tooltip popup for certain keywords, either throughout your site or on certain pages. You will need to craft the html for the replacement text yourself. The module takes care of only matching on content text and not headers, links, menu items etc.

If you do take the time to try it out I'd love to get any feedback you have, positive or negative. The module hasn't been out very long and I'm still getting the feel for what types of uses people have for it, and it's strengths and weaknesses.

regards
Bruce

I was able to test the Inline Link Master module. I ran into a potential problem, so posted my inquiry on the iFinity forums.

My post was as follows:

The Inline Link Master appears to be exactly what I've been searching for. The only problem is that I've only been able to make the free trial replace words inside the Text/HTML module.

I've tried to use the Inline Link Master in combination with these modules but have had no luck with the results:

Announcements
FAQs
Events
Ventrian News Articles
Blog

Is this perhaps a problem with only my instance of the Inline Link Master? Was the module designed only to work with the Text/HTML module? Maybe the method to find the module's content is too restrictive?

These are my environment specs:

Microsoft SQL Server 2008
Windows Vista Business
IIS 7.0
DNN 05.00.01

I'd greatly appreciate any help. Thanks.

I'll keep everyone updated on the progress of my quest for tooltips until I find something workable.

[UPDATE]
I'm making alot of potential progress with this tutorial:
