    rating from 1 - 10

    Recommended:   1  Would not reccommend
Support:              5  Questions are answered, but not very friendly
Performance: (server uptime, speed of site etc.)   7  Can't complain, but I was running a pure html site with them.
Value For Money: 1  You can do better

discount.asp has a lot af fine print to read - if you want to use them, better read it all - carefully.  If you decide to cancel your service with them, you don't get a refund for any unused time.  Rather, they set your cancellation date to the date your service runs out.

Not DNN friendly - their FAQ states that they do not support it.

You will be spending 20 dollars + for shared hosting if you want to host a DNN site.

    Hi All,
I use discountasp.net....they are not so 'discount' if you only want a minimal and cheap site...but for a small company they currently charge USD240/year including 50 email boxes, 100MB sql server space, 750MB file space. This is more than enough for a small company and if you are slightly larger they sell extras at very reasonable prices.

Their support has been good for me and their up time has also been fine. They are polite and prompt and have always let me know when they are doing maintenance. Sometimes they point me to FAQs a little too often, especially when I have been to the FAQs and not founf the answer, but they must get a lot of people trying to get answers and not look at the FAQs so I would forgive them that. Once the support guys got to know that I only asked questions where I had tried to find the answer they were more responsive and that's great.

I would have no concern recommending them for small companies.

For people who want a truely 'discount' provider I'd suggest enom.com where you can buy your mailboxes in packs of 10 and you can host many portals on the one site....I use discountasp.net to host many portals but that has the problem that I do not offer email with these sites.....I asked discountasp.net if they were considering moving into that cheaper market and their answer was 'currently no' which is fairenough.

I agree!  Discountasp.net is way overpriced.  Like a sucker I was paying 60$USD for the subdomain addon, typically free with most other hosting providers.  It dosent' stop there either, im just embarrased to go anyfurther.  They were efficient as far as uptime and updating.  Also, they are only reachable via email for all issues annoying if you have to 2 business days to have SQL DB backed up.

I agree they are a bit overpriced, but as for uptime and updates, they are hard to beat. I have been very happy with them the past few years. But after hosting a few sites with them I decided I could put all that money on a dedicated server.
