Hi Joseph and everyone,
I'm looking for a recommendation for a module to use to build specific interactivity into my DNN websites. I need to build custom forms, reports, send email confirmations, do some math, run stored procedures at the touch of a button - all sorts of things. I have been doing this so far by combining heavy use of Dynamic Forms with the DNN reports and other modules and tying it all together in one DNN application.
My last application takes sports registrations and payment for same and places athletes on teams. Has forms that coaches can use to move athletes from team to team, contact them by email for announcements, remove a registration, report on team stats, athlete ages and other demographics. I think you can get the picture.I'm building an online program and I prefer to do it inside DNN.
Can you or anyone recommend the right module to do all or most of this development work in? 3 or 4 years ago I tried DNN Mushroom and couldn't get very far - but I'd try again if it was any better now. What else is there? and has anyone used one of these successfully?
Thanks for your advice. - Mark

Mark,
I am not aware of a single module that does everything in one place. I think that using Dynamic Forms and Reports is a good place to start. Besides that, I might also recommend Form Master and SGSV.
The "rapid development tools" like Mushroom and OWS seem to have not been developed much. You might also want to take a look at XMOD. It's development continues, and it's develped and supported by some really good people!
I think that there might be a new module or two that run SQL stuff. If you are using DNN 7.2.x, take a look at the new Host SQL module. It's been revamped quite a bit. I assume that you aren't putting SQL into the hands of users. If you are, you might want to make sure that they can only do things of which you approve.
(It is interesting that you application involves sports teams. Are you aware that Shaun Walker originally created DNN to manage teams in a youth hockey league?)

Didn't the original DNN module developers at Engage do the same thing? They are now Engage Sports (www.engagesports.com) , which is built on DNN and appears to do the same thing that you are looking for.

Thanks. That might be something your could use, or at least have something that you could obtain and modify.
Engage Sports seems to be owned by Engage Software (engagesoftware.com) who are well know people in the DNN Community. The recently got out of the module development and sales business, and are focussing on solutions. Their modules are now all open source and available at CodePlex.
