Hi all! can anyone tell me why this error comes and what is the solutions I am trying to set the smtp server setting for mail setup bt it shows this error please port: Enter the SMTP Server Address. You can also specify an alternate port by adding a colon and the port number (e.g. smtp.googlemail.com:587). Enter the SMTP server name only to use default port number (25) Test There has been an error trying to send the test email. The error is: Mailbox unavailable. The server response was: (COMP6) [122.162.11.198] is currently not permitted to relay through this

Your SMTP server is refusing to send the mail because it thinks you are "relaying" mail through it. This is a technique that's designed to stop spammers from using an SMTP server.

You will need to have the person who manages the SMTP server to permit your DotNetNuke installtion to use it.

What kind of additional help do you need? The settings that you need should be available from your hosting provider.

I got it to work. I am actually using Windows 2003 Server. I had to set the address of the Host email as well as the SMTP server to use the fully qualified domain name of the Win 03 server on the domain.

    thanks
