Just thought I should test a very local marketing idea.

I have a small suburb (or town) with somewhere around 300 – 500 shops and small businesses, and I would like to put them all on a web-site. Probably allowing a “screen-size-area” for each business, with some form of searching both on company name and product to find your way around the page.

The initial listing will be a free service – “so what’s in it for me” – you might wonder?

Well, can anyone give me “money making ideas” of a captured audience?

1.) With a limited space there should be a chance for “up-selling” to an unlimited size page for some customers.

2.) Then we have marketing ideas, selling discounted price vouchers to direct customer to of peak or low season times?

3.) Etc etc etc . . . . . Ideas????

With the vouchers, I want to have them very flexible, and I want the customer to select the voucher and then print it straight to their own printer.

Sounds a bit complex doesn’t it?
A restaurant offering a 25% discount if you dine before 6:30 or after 8:30.
A barbershop offer a 2 for 1 voucher if you get your hair cut in February.
And a corner store has a Friday offer of 30% off a certain list of products.

Customer must be registered to be able to print the vouchers, can the vouchers be a ‘pdf file’ which prohibits download but allows printing straight of the web page. Or should it be a web-form where the customer needs to enter name and E-mail.

How can an effective payment system work?

Does this sound 'doable' in DNN?

Better close here before I drag out for too long….

Cheers

Olle…

You may want to also look into Property Agent by Ventrian. It's being used in some VERY creative ways. You could have shop owners pay to put coupons on your site. Just a thought!
