Dear DNNCREATIVE TEAM, I have two questions 1) Is there an alternative html editor for DNN(apart from FCKEditor)? Even a commercial one will do as long it is worth the price. 2)Is there a good commerical ecommerce module? We need to sell products with a store cart and are willing to pay for a good module that looks nice and is easy to use. Which would you recommend? best regards, Chaitanya Vaidya

Telerik has an editor that many swear by.

For e-commerce, I'm not sure that there is a clear winner. You might want to look at Ali Commerce and ASPDotNetStorefront, two modules that are on opposite ends of the spectrum.

Telerik's RADEditor is very nice - it is also very expensive since you must buy the whole suite of controls to get it ($800).

CUTEEditor from Cutesoft is much less expensive ($129.00) and has some features RAD does not such as the Youtube manager and layers ability. RAD is better looking with it's nice selection of pre-built skins.

There is also another open source option - TINYMCE.

How do you change from RADeditor back to the FCKeditor in DotNetNuke verion 04.08.02. We are upgrading our website to version 5 and don't want to purchase the newer version of RADeditor. Our past web provider was using the RADeditor.

The settings for which editor to use are stored in the web.config file.

When you upgrade to DNN 5 you will need to compare the contents in the web.config file and make sure you use the settings for the FCKEditor which will be in the DNN5 web.config upgrade files and remove the settings for the RAD editor.

CREATE A BACKUP of your web.config file before doing this

CREATE A BACKUP of your entire installation files + database before attempting an upgrade as well

I would suggest for your needs, use the manual upgrade method. In the future for further upgrades once you have configured the web.config file for FCKEditor you will be able to upgrade using the auto method.
