I am running the Events module v 4.0.2, and there is the option of a custom field.  It says that I can rename the custom field in Admin - Languages, but I cannot find where in this section that this can be set up.

Any ideas?

I haven't done this but ...

Open up the language editor. In the left column, expand the tree to Local Resources, Desktop Modules. Then expand the tree for the Events module. You'll look for that name in the resources files for the Events module.

I have done this.  I changed the value in Admin - Languages - Language Editor - Local Resources - DesktopModules - Events - App_LocalResources - settings.ascx for both the UK and the US languages.  I changed the value in CustomField1.Text to my new value and clicked Update.  I went back in to make sure it had updated, and it had.

So, it is updated for both UK and US, but when I display the field in the module, it is still showing as 'Custom Field 1' in the title.  See http://www.townsendsports.co.uk/Ten...fault.aspx

Any ideas?  I have tried clearing the cache.

I'm afraid not. I abandoned the idea of using this feature soon afterwards.

Got the solution on the DNN Forum from Roger. Solution: Admin - Languages - Local Resources (left hand column) - DesktopModules - Events - App_LocalResources - settings.ascx and change the Custom1 and Custom2 text to new text. Click update and also save the file at the bottom of the page. Also need to change the Custom1 and Custom2 fields in SharedResources - there are two places where you need to do this. Cheers, Tom
