Good morning!  I have been struggling with CISS.SideMenu for a few weeks now.  It's very nice, but I can't seem to change between the 40 menus that came with the thing.  Apparently, there is a drop-down menu in the settings somewhere that just allows me to change the menu to another style, but I can't find it.  I've even seen a screen shot of it, but I can't find it anywhere in our admin or host menus.  I have located the settings ascx and, when opening it in VWD, I see that the associated codebehind .cs is not found.  Could this be the problem?  I'm not sure where this file went to if this is the problem.

Any help is appreciated.  Appreciated deeply.  My work developing our DNN site has been stalled since I got this module and I'm facing serious retribution from the boss.  Now you feel obligated to help!  JK.

Thanks!

Jeremy

Have you been in touch with the developers of this module?

My first guess is that you should NOT be playing in the .ascx file. Instead, you should be using whatever tools came with the module to configure it.

If this is installed like a module, do you drop it on a page? If so, does it have settings available from the dropdown module settings menu? If it installs as a skin object, you should be editing your skin and making changes there.

Hey, your post helped me so much! Seriously! If you can't tell, I'm brand new to this. I read your post and it clicked in my brain: the Text/HTML module has a settings part, so why doesn't the CISS.SideMenu? Because I'm incompetent!

Originally, I created my ascx with CISS.SideMenu hard-coded into a td.  I removed that and replaced it with a div called LeftPane.  That created a pane into which I could place a module. I returned to my DNN control panel, inserted the CISS.SideMenu module into LeftPane, went into the module's settings, and found the elusive menu settings I had been seeking. Whew! So, ignore my stupidity. Buy something from DaoA!

I'm glad I had this problem, though. I learned more about how this DNN thing works. And, since I can't afford real training or classes, blunders are how I shall learn.

Thanks for the reply!

Jeremy
