Hi Lee

I am using the HouseMenu skin object Ver. 1.4 with a CSS skin on DNN453. The menu is configured as a Horizontal "Drop Down" Menu using one of the CSS templates that comes with the skin object.

The menu works OK in Firefox Version 2. However, in IE7 I have noticed that the drop down sub-menus do not automatiaclly collapse when you hover over a new main menu item. This has the effect of multiple drop down sub-menus being visible until a menu item is selected. If no menu item is selected then they continue to be visable (IE: "dropped down")

I have noticed via the HouseofNuke Forums that you have recently done some testing with this version of the HouseNMenu Skin Object and DNN453. Have you come across the problem and do you know how to fix it?

Hi Lee

I have done it bit more testing. It appears that the drop down sub-menus collapse if I exit (IE: Move the cursor off) the main menu item "block" from the BOTTOM or the TOP of the main menu item "block". If I "exit" the main menu item "block" from the LEFT or the RIGHT (IE: Just move my cursor along the list of main menu items horizontally) the drop down sub menus appear but do NOT collapse.

I have checked the CSS code for the menu template and "display: inline;" is used instead of "display: block;". I think you mentioned that "display: inline;" can cause some problems. Do you think that this may be the cause?

Hi Kevin,

Yes I've recently done some testing, however these tests were for a static menu. - I have only used static menus as when I tested dynamic menus (this was v1.3)  they did not produce reliable results in various browsers.

It could be all sorts of problems, basically I would use the methods outlined in this tutorial: Troubleshooting DotNetNuke Skins to test the CSS code / make changes / strip out sections etc. to try and find a solution.

Thanks,
