Hi,

I am quite new to DNN, so I will try my best to explain clearly. I am building a fornum, and have got following questions.

1) How to display content of a webpage (for example: www.google.com)  in a portal? (just like frames do)

2) Is it possiable create an Email subscription function using DNN? It is not email notification, but user subscribe to an email group.

3) If I have an admin user, and I want to give him the right to modify the pages, eg. resize the portals,  or replace the portal, are these two functionalities possiable?

4) The forum allow user to upload image in their messages, but after user enter the directory of image, and click upload, the image just appear in the image lists, and that is all. How to really append the image to the message?

if any DNN master knows any of the answers, please do help.... I will be very gratefull.

Hello,

1) Have you tried the IFrame module that comes with DNN? This allows you to display the content of another website within your portal.

2) Using the security roles you can set up a security role to be automatically assigned to a user when they register with your site - this could be called 'Email Subscription'  the user can then  edit whether or not they wish to receive the emails from their  user account details. (Click on your username to see the security roles that  are currently assigned to you in DNN Creative). You can read further details about setting this up in issue 1

 - This is one method, another method is to buy a module which is setup specially for this, you will find a few modules are available on snowcovered.

3) I am not too sure what you mean by resize the portal or replace the portal, could you expand any further? - Using the security roles and user accounts you can give any user admin access or just elements of admin access, you can even give additional users full host access. - Issue 1 provides further info.

4) Is this forum for the free core DotNetNuke forum module? - I would suggest asking this question in the main DNN forum as I have not used the DotNetNuke forum module.

Hope this helps, thanks,
