site sending multiple emails

I'm working on a site that is sending multiple, identical emails to the admin whenever someone registers on the site and/or places an order from their shopping cart. The admin's email is only entered once and the second admin that is listed to receive the emails, only receives them once.

Any ideas? I'm not seeing anything in the settings. I only have Admin access to the site, not Host.

I think I know hat the problem is but I don't know a way around it.

The problem is that the site admin users as well as the main admin user of the site (setup under Admin/Site Settings/Advanced Settings/Security Settings) both receive emails. The problem is that the main admin of the site of course is also under the a site "Administrator" role.

The is the problem. A potential solution would be to set someone else as the main site's admin user and is could go to an email that is not checked.

Okay great! We'll test that out.

Side note, we haven't been receiving emails from our questions on here when someone responds. The box to subscribe to receive email notifications is checked and our email is accurate in our profile. But we haven't received anything in a while as far as when someone submits a reply - so we forget to check back sometimes. There's also nothing in our spam filter so nothing is getting stopped either. Any ideas there?

There might be something wrong with the email delivery of the forum module we use. We will have a look and see if there is a fix for that.
