I am testing out the evoq 8.5

I have test users accounts that I created in the Parent Portal utilizing them authenticated under a site group. These users will be able to access a couple of child portals using a single sign on credentials.

I have Parent Portal and Child Portal 1 and Child Portal 2 which shares the same domain.
e.g.
Parent Portal: maindomain.com
Child Portal: maindomain.com/access/CP1
Child Portal: maindomain.com/access/CP2

I created several roles in the Parent Portal under the maindomain.com
1. Main Admin
2. CP1 user
3. CP1 admin
4. CP2 user
5. CP2 admin

When I create pages in my Child Portal 1
e.g. maindomain.com/access/CP1
The only roles I want to access these pages are
1. Main Admin
2. CP1 user
3. CP1 admin

When I create pages in my Child Portal 2
e.g. maindomain.com/access/CP2
The only roles I want to access these pages are
1. Main Admin
2. CP2 user
3. CP2 admin

When I go to my child portals page permissions, I dont see any of the roles I created from my parent portal. Why cant I use the roles I created in the parent portal to be utilized in the respective child portals?

Also in both child portals I want the role Main Admin to access both child portals. What do I need to do to make this work?

Hi Charles,

Unfortunately parent portals and child portals have independent users and roles. That is why you cannot see the roles created under the parent within the children.

That is just how DNN works. Each portal is independent of the others except for the usernames, which must be unique across the entire DNN installation.

There is this: DNNMasters Multi Portal User Sharing Xtreme 3.9 - is an advanced module that allows sharing user accounts and roles among multiple portals.

You will find it at the DNN Store. I have used it (several years ago) and it worked just fine.
