Hello,
We upgraded DNN to the latest version on test server.
After the update some of the styling in default.css is overridden.
We tried changing the styling in the following files:
Portals\_detault\default.css
Resources\Shared\stylesheets\dnndefault\7.0.0\default.css
But the styling changes are not taking affect.
Please help

Do you mean DNN 7.4.1 maybe? You said 8.4.1.

In any case there are CSS changes and you need to adjust your skin accordingly. No magic bullet here. Sorry but you just have to do the grinding to get the skins fixed.

Thank you Andy for the quick reply, we upgraded on our testing server Evoq Content Enterprise from 07.03.04 to 8.4.1 the latest one.

NEVER ... NEVER edit anything called "default." If you do, those files will be overwritten the next time that you do an upgrade.

So, Step 1 is to restore those files.

It is likely that the problem CSS is either in your skin's skin.css file or your portal's portal.css file.

If the problem is strictly on the Admin and Host pages, I would start by applying a "standard" skin to those pages. I would use Gravity or the new Xcillion file. If the issues persist after doing that, then the CSS is, most likely, in your portal.css file. (Make sure that the skin is really applied by viewing Page Settings for each of the affected pages.)

But, also undo the changes to the two files you mentioned and any others you may have altered.
