We have some issues with this website and wondered if you could suggest anything?

We are collecting some strange URLs in our Google analytics for the site. The URLs should not really exist but Google is reporting on them as if they do.

The main one is, /login?returnurl=/quick-contact-thank-you/ctl/edit/mid/463/initial/www

That is the whole link (obviously it will have www.aganto.co.uk/ at the beginning)

It would appear that this is a real page that has been visited, though we do not know how anyone got to it.

There IS a quick contact form which appears on most pages in the left hand column. What we can’t understand is how the reported link is being created in Google.

If you complete a Quick contact form then you are sent to a thank you page however you do not have the last part of the URL with it. /ctl/edit/mid/463/initial/www

We are unsure if someone has manged or is trying to hack into the site.

Can anyone please let me know about this?

Thanks

Hi Kaustav,

If you don't have it already setup, you should setup Google Webmaster Tool for the website. This way you will find out whether there is any particular keyword driving to that URL.

Also you should try to understand where is this originating from. Usually if this is coming from a link somewhere you should be able to find out on Google Analytics.

In the end there are only 3 ways a link can be accessed:

1 - Direct type in the browser address;

2 - A link somewhere on the web (including from your own site);

3 - A Google Search result;

4 - It could also be search bots trying to crawl your site or "bad bots" trying to find vulnerabilities;

Sincerely,
Andy
