DNN Site running Cart Viper with an SSL installed.
-Cart Viper went bad, so I am migrating the eCommerce to a new domain with a new eCommerce solution
-the rest of the site is still on original domain running DNN
-disabled SSL in DNN
-updated Host URL field (from https://www.hmamembers.org to http://www.hmamembers.org)
-removed SSL Certificate from server

I now have an issue where the site is not connecting via https. it does connect via http.
The site is indexed under https, currently being updated to http.

When you click on a link you get an error:

www.hmamembers.org refused to connect.
ERR_CONNECTION_REFUSED

Regardless of whether DNN is under SSL, the site should show..correct.
Now I would obvious get mesages sayng site is not secure.

Did I miss something in the process?http://www.dnncreative.com/DesktopModules/ActiveForums/themes/blue/images/save32.png

Hi John,

If you have removed SSL from the server/site running DNN, the site WILL NOT answer to HTTPS requests at all. You only get the message "site is not secure" is:

1 - You are self validating the SSL certificate (not via an external entity)
or
2 - The SSL certificate you have is expired;
or
3 - The SSL certificate belongs to a different domain.

That's it. But you need to have SSL installed for the site to answer to HTTPS requests.

Sincerely,
Andy
