Hi - we have some dispute over web statistics:

Google Analytics: 100 back links during the last week (Twitter is working best)
Newspaper: 160 back links related to a few press releases (according to their statistics)

Now - on my Google Analytics report page the newspaper does not even appear under backlinks...

Is the problem with Google or the Newspaper or with the DNN Analytics module?

Any thoughts?

Thanks,

Oliver

What the Google Analytics module does is place the Google Tracking Code on each page in the site. You can verify this by going to a page and looking at the page source.

There is a Google Analytics Evolved module from oliverhine.com. It's free and it provides a few more configuration options. I don't think, though, that it should make a difference in the results you've reported.

From where do you get the numbers for back links?

Hi - I try the module from Oliver Hine..

Is Google Analytics monitoring all web site visits OR do they only log if a user is actually logged into their google account?
If there would have been a 10% difference it would be fine but the newspaper was claiming 160 back links (I assume they count the number of clicks on their site)
and google analytics did not notice ANY of them...

This is a bit odd...

Thanks,
Oliver

Google Analytics will record all visits for pages on which it is installed. If you configure it in DNN, it will be on all pages.

Google has great documentation and a support forum for GA.
