Change the registration to private and noone can register. Change it to verified and they have to provide a legitimate email address.

I don't know of an easy way.

You could mark them deleted or unauthorized with SQL if they all occurred in a certain time period. But you'll want to be careful doing that.

The email verifications are sent to the email specified when the user registers. I'm not sure that you can change it.

Where does the message saying that a new person needs verification go and how do I change that?

You should find that in the Global Resources section of the Language Editor.
