I'm new for Dotnetnuke CMS. I have developed static page website which contains nearly 40 pages. Here, i have installed DotNetNuke_Community_06.02.06 in my system localhost (inetpub\wwwroot). I want to integrate my developed website into dnn site. Can you tell me where i need to create my images folder? portals/0 or assets folder?

The quick answer is to create that folder in /portals/0. Comparing a DNN portal to an HTML website, think of /portals/root as your site's root directory. By default, DNN does not hav an "assets" folder.
