Lee,
I have been working through the SolPartMenu Uncovered with some moderate success.
There is however a quirk with the vertical menu that I have not been able to rectify as yet.

I currently have the horizontal menu displaying at the root level and showing the root level only, while the vertical menu is showing the child level. Unfortunately the vertical menu always displays an Icon link for the Parent.

Is there a way to remove this link to the parent menu Item as well as changing the "Site Navigation" title that displays above the Vertical Menu?

Thanks in advance,
Adrian

Found another thing that is going to cause me problems.

If the Horizontal menu is showing Root level only and the Vertical menu is showing the child elements, the Admin and Host menu items only show the Root level.(So they only appear in the Horizontal menu.) And when clicked on, produce no effect?

Help please.

Adrian

 hello Adrian,

do you have a URL for us to look at?

regarding the admin and host menus, have a read of this post where we discuss several methods for displaying a separate menu for the administrators of the website.

Thanks for the link to the post on the DotNetNuke forums. I think the way I'm going to handle the Admin and Host menus is to create an Admin Skin and set the RootOnly property on the Horizontal Menu to false.

That way the Child items will be displayed when the user has edit rights to the page that they are viewing with out impacting the functionality of the menus when viewed by a normal user.

Because the site that I am working on is an intranet site I can't provide a URL to show you what I mean regarding the parent folder appearing in the Vertical menu however I am going to email you a jpg of the Vertical menu that will show you what I'm trying to get rid of.

Thanks

Adrian

Hello,

Thanks for the pic. - It appears as though you are using the Treeview menu for your vertical menu rather than the SolPartMenu which is why you have these additional icons etc. displayed.

If you want to add a vertical Solpart menu to the page, have a look at:
How to create a skin (using tables)
