The editors on our corporate site don't have access to the Upload File fields or File Managers.  We have to grant them Admin access which gives them too much authority.  Am I just missing an easy way to address this gap or is this the fixed DNN role model?

Hello,

If you set up the file manager with the correct permissions in combination with the Text Editor, you should be able to upload images through the editor when editing text.

I have just run a quick test and was able to set up a text / HTML module with edit permissions to a security role which allowed that security role to upload and select images.

As a starting point, I would have a look at this video tutorial: The File Manager in DotNetNuke 4.3 and 3.3

Is this what you are trying to achieve or do you also wish to upload documents such as PDF files?

Thanks,

Thanks. This is helpful for images.

We are trying to upload PDFs and such.

I just setup up the File Manager permission to allow Editors to write files, but they don't have an active link to enter the File Manager. I need them to be able to add documents.

Hello,

It maybe worth testing this module:

I haven't used it before, but it looks as though it fits your needs. - It is available to DNN C subscribers through the flatburger promotion:

I take it then that there is no easy way to give a group say "registered users" a way to upload files?  The document exchange module unfortunatley is currently  $179.

Thanks,
Marco
