Can a portal template with content created from a DNN 4.7 install be imported directly into a new DNN 5.2 install, or will it have to be imported into DNN 4.7 and then upgraded to 5.2?

I would try this on a test installation to see if it works.

Be aware that some earlier versions of DotNetNuke had problems with export/import of portal templates. I can't recall which, however. The best test will be to export a portal from 4.7 and verify that you can import it back into 4.7. If that works, try importing into 5.2.

I also seem to remember that one issue was a broken tag or two in the exported XML file. I believe that these issues could be repaired with a text editor or, even better, and XML editor.
