Hello,

I am trying to install a module on DNN 5.02 and I received this message upon install attempt:

A Critical Error Has Occured

Illegal Characters in Path

Any advise would be greatly appreciated.

Which modules are you trying to install? Are there any more details? Look in the event log for detailed error messages.

Also, check the DotNetNuke version? Are you sure that it is 5.02 and not 5.20?

Hello Joseph,

thank you for the reply - this is what is written on the site for the DNN Version:

05.02.00 (275)

the module is:    Edelsoft.CustomizeLinker.Core.v.3.2.0

the company sent me a newer version of the mod that installed ok (although I did have to select to ignore unknown file extensions) <-- this box came up during install.

I am trying to work with the company through multiple performance issues at the current time.  I did ask them what caused the illegal characters in path message as I am curious to know for future issues but they will not answer the question.

thank you again for the prompt response.

It is possible that this module will not run on DotNetNuke 5.2.0.   You might want to ask that question.

And, I'd still like to see a more detailed error message.
