I was attempting a live upgrade from 4.07 to 5.02 and encountered problems.  I reloaded the old DNN installation and when I went to restore the database I realized I had backed-up the wrong database.

I know, I'm an idiot.

What are my options to get things back-up and running.  Is there a way to repair the database?

I have an old copy of the database that is over a week old on my localhost, but I'm hoping I can repair the current one.

Thanks in advance for any help you can offer.

Fred

Thanks for the quick reply.  If I restore the back-up database, which is about one week old, will that create problems seeing how the back-up of the DNN installation is current?  They both are the same version of DNN, but there is about 7 days between when the two were backed up.

Thanks.

You should restore both the database and the website's directory.  Hopefully you have both.

A DotNetNuke installation consists of both the database and the directory.  You should make backups of both.  And at the same time.

If you have a backup of the database, but not of the web directory, I'm not quite sure of the best approach to repair things.  But, I would take backups of the current state, just so that you can return here if needed.

Do you know what went wrong in the upgrade?
