unloading new web site

I have upgraded my new web site to my web site.  and its deaulting to "This site is currently Unavailable
in dotnetnuke."  please check back later.  I am using dotnetnuke 5.1.

my website is www.germaninpittsburgh.org
 
anyone has any ideas.

Was the site working before you did the upgrade? From which version did you start? Which version did you use for the upgrade? 5.1.2? Can you describe how you did the upgrade?

After uploading, you should have made at least these changes:

  • Change the two connection strings in web.config to point to the new database server.
  • Edit the portalalias table in the database to point to the URL for the new site.

Try refreshing the page and see if you get a more informative error message.

i did a refresh for past couple of minutles. nothing happens so far.
What is the different between the portalias table and portals table. i have one entry in both table. do you know if that is correct.

The portals table contains information about each portal.

The portalalias table contains "aliases" for each portal.  These are the URLs to which each portal  responds.

I would look at the connection strings again. The error you have is typical of what happens when DotNetNuke cannot connect to the database.
