Hi. Other than making basic changes to our site, I'm new at trying to make any significant changes, but have assumed that role. I've begun taking tutorials, but find it hard to to get to some level of detail I'm looking for. A consultant created the site for us. I'd appreciate any guidance on the following. I'm trying to learn more each time I use this so if you know what tutorial offers an explanation, I'm willing to try to do it myself. If it's helpful, our website is www.kinneypike.com. - Our site was set up so the left pane is for navigating, rather than editing. I, however, need to add more content/links to this pane but cannot find how to edit the left menu, or pane, as it appears to be set up as a navigational pane. - I need to update our logo on the site, which means changing the skin but do not see how to do this. Could it be they didnt allow me access to modify skins? I appear to have host access. - At the top of our main pages, a heading, company name and tagline appear to direct visitors. I need to change the language on this and cant find where to do so. Thanks, Ann

I recommend that you start with these tutorials:

Once you understand the basics, you'll see how to look into your site, see how it is constructed, and how to modify it.

If you wish to explore skinning then also have a look at Issue no 5 and 6 as this is where we begin explaining how skinning works in DotNetNuke.

I think it would also be worth your time installing a test version of DotNetNuke on your local computer, this way you can experiment with using DotNetNuke, learn all the details of how DotNetNuke works without risking messing up your live website. I think you will find it much easier and quicker to learn in this way and then you'll know what to look for on your live website.

If you decide to install DotNetNuke to your local computer, I would recommend you do this within a virtual PC:

How to setup and use Microsoft Virtual PC 2007

And then have a look at these tutorials, depending on which version of Windows you are using:
You will probably want to install the same version of DotNetNuke that your website is currently using, you can find out which version of DotNetNuke it is using by going to the host menu / HostSettings

Hope this helps you to get you started, if you have any further questions, please do not hesitate to ask,
