Not sure where this topic belongs, but this looked good I'm new to dnn and would like to set up a newsletter for subscribers, not sure what to do.  When I go to admin>newsletters and send a to myself I get nothing.  Am I supposed to set up or configure something?  Not sure.  BTW I have used these tutorials all along my DNN way.  They have been fantastic, there is nothing on newsletters that I could find though.  Thanks - Ida

Hello,

Glad to hear the tutorials have been useful to you. - Perhaps you would like to add a testimonial to the forum? - http://www.dnncreative.com/Forum/ta...fault.aspx

There isn't a tutorial on the newsletter features yet - but it's on the to do list ;-)

Yes you do need to configure DNN first before you can use it:

Go to Host / Settings
Advanced Settings
SMTP Settings
Here you enter the details of your email server - ie. the details you use to collect your email in Outlook
SMTP authentication varies, on my server I need to select basic
Click on the Test link and see if you get an email

Next make sure your administrator account has an actual email address entered, I seem to recall the newsletter uses this email address for sending the newsletter through your email server.

Then go to newsletter and type a test email

You may have to test the advanced settings section depending on your server and try: Asynchronous or Synchronous in the send action.

Hopefully you should now receive your email!

Thanks,
Lee Sykes
