Can anyone suggest a good tutorial for a basic user that would cover how to work with the calendar/events module?  Any help would be appreciated.

I haven't covered the events module yet, when I looked at it in the past it was very buggy so didn't record a video, but it has had a few updates since then so it looks as though it is time to have another look at the module,
