Hello Joe or Lee:

Question here aobut compatibility issues.  I was looking on the net to see if DNN 4.8.2 had any compatibility issues with net 3.5 service pack 1 since I got an email from my host alerting me that some applications have run into problems since service pack 1 of the 3.5 framework had been installed and as such it was highly suggested we look around to verify our applications are compatible.

Have any of you heard about issues or experienced any issues do to a service pack 1 upgrade of net 3.5 if so please let me know as soon as you can.  Though my server number has not experienced the upgrade yet it will soon.

I guess they have postponed any more updates for a week to give us a chance to check out our apps concerning this upgrade to verify they will not have issues after the upgrade occurs since apparently this sort of upgrade does not give the host any opportunity to do any roll backs once the upgrade is implemented.

According to Microsoft it is supposed to be backwards compatible but we will see soon enough.

Lastly does anyone have any idea why my last question concerning search engine has a 1 out of 5 star rating besides the question.  I'm curious because as I looked around in the forum I didn't see any other topic with any star scale beside the question so just wondering if this was some new feature to the forum or what .

Thanks,

Bo

I am not aware of issues, but even if your hosting provider is upgrading .net framework, can you still select .net 2.0 for running DNN? - most hosting providers allow you to select which .net framework version to run on your DotNetNuke installation.

The stars have always been here in the forum, but people tend to not use them very often - most of the time I think people click on them by mistake!

Your info on the search engine module was very useful and please do not be put off from posting because someone has given it a one star.

many thanks,

Lee
