I am trying to replicate a relatively simple menu:

A horizontal menu

showing root level items on one line
and sub menu itmes for the selected root item horizontally underneath

i want the sub menu to be static so they only change when a new itme is selected from the root level
in addition i want to be able to style the active root and sub menu item

i am not overly concerned about showing the admin host menu in this menu,
and i am not to bothered if the menu is css or java based

to give you a feel for what i am trying to achieve i have attached a screen -shot of the menu i am trying to replicate....

Yes, you can certainly do this.

I use the Snapsis Nav Menu to accomplish this at stockcentral.com, but you can also do it with other menus.
