It seems the only thing DNN Creative doesnt really cover is module development. Im sure it has already been requested also!
Are there any plans to create a module development tutorial? Even if its just a basic example, it would be great to get some of us started.
I personally prefer C# development not VB too!

I wouldn't dare to try to speak for Lee, but I think that he's chosen to concentrate on tutorials that are aimed at DotNetNuke users rather than developers. That's just fine with me, and I also think that he's got his hands full just delivering excellent content for that niche. Fortunately, there are others who are delivering content to serious developers and to less serious, but still important, semi-pro developers and users who need to occasionally go beyond stock and purchased modules. I'd recommend Michael Washington's adefwebserver.com site. He has a section devoted to DotNetNuke and module development. No video tutorials, to my knowledge, but tons of great information in usable chunks. Back in my early days I think that I found some helpful video tutorials at dnnwiki.net, too. And, if you get stuck on issues, there are also great support forums like those run by John Mitchell at Snapsis.com, Ventrian.com and others. |

Dear Lee, Is there a change that you will change your mind, and show some development tutorials like explanation od the Data Access Layer? For a starter in developing its hard to now what the mindset has been to split up als these files and how they work. Ik hope you will. your video's a clear, but i am missing the development of modules. Arjan |

I'm sitting here with my new copy of "Professional DotNetNuke Module Programming" by Mitchel Sellers. It's a recommended addition to your library. Also, I have a copy of the new "Professional DotNetNuke 5." Either that or the older "Professional DotNetNuke 4" should be on your shelf. And your browser bookmarks should include dotnetnuke.adefwebserver.com, Michael Washington's very helpful site. |

Hello,
Well there could be a nice suprise coming up if I manage to get a certain someone on board as a tutor this month. Can't mention any names or anything else yet apart from that teaser! - What I can say though is that it wont be module development with DALs etc. but using OWS as a tool for module development.
I am just in the process of getting the new tutor up to speed and ensuring the videos are recorded properly so that we can then edit and produce them to DNN Creative standards.
I've literally been recording videos of myself recording video tutorials to train the best techniques for recording - mind bending stuff!
Can't make any promises yet, but just wanted to let you know I am working on it for getting that content created, thanks,
Lee

Your best bets for information about module development are adefwebserver.com and the new book on module development by Mitchel Sellers.
