    Hi,

I just want to suggest/request that DNN Creative makes a tutorial that briefly walks us through the files that comprise DotNetNuke and explains how they can be modified to allow us to customize our portal.

    Thanks.

    Hello,

Thanks for the suggestion, are there any files in particular you are thinking about? For instance how to customize emails etc.

Or are you talking overall files such as 'This is the folder that stores the skins' - Elements of these folders have already been covered in various tutorials.

    Thanks,

For instance, I just realized from the How to Modify a Module tutorial that we can customize the layout of a module – which means I can finally strip all those inflexible tables from my modules. Also, I figured out that the 404, 500, and 403-3 custom error pages can be customized and can even use modules and a portal’s skin. I see some config files such as Compression.config, Features.config, and SiteUrls.config, and what is KeepAlive.aspx and ErrorPage.aspx? And yes, your suggestion about customizing the emails would be great too.

No, I don't mean that you should reinstate what you already covered. I just thought a brief walk-though of the contents of a DNN solution for intermediate to advanced developers would be helpful.

    Thanks.
