I would like to see a tutorial on how to migrate an exisiting DNN installation from one webhosting provider to another. Best practice, what tools to use, etc.
I understand it's a complicated process and it would be great to get some help with it.

It doesn't have to be a complicated process.  The process will be affected, though, by the tools that your hosting provider(s) give you. 

Basically, there are two items that need to be transferred:

• Database
• Website directory

This tutorial will help you get these two items from the current hosting provider:

• How to backup a live hosted DotNetNuke website and restore it to a localhost installation

Just do the backup part, and don't worry about installing it on your computer.

This tutorial will show you how to move the backups to the new hosting provider:

• How to transfer a localhost DotNetNuke installation to a live website

If you need more help, just ask!

I would also do the backup and then ask your new hosting provider to restore it for you - if they are a decent hosting provider they will do this for you, so I would do the following:

Contact your current hosting provider, ask them for a backup file of everything

Contact your new hosting provider, send them these backup files and ask them to restore them to your new site

Keep it simple!
