Does anyone know how to make it so that housemenu collapses? I only want the sub-items to display when the main item is clicked but it doesn't seem to work for me no matter how many ways I have the XML file.

It's something I've gotta get sorted real soon

If you look at www.skinningtoolkit.com it sort of works in this way.

I did it by adding several housemenus to the page and styling it so that it look like one menu. - You can access the CSS of the site using the web developers toolbar to see how I did it.

The technique is basically the same as this tutorial:
