Ive been reading about installing DNN with a hosting provider, but still have questions.  Godaddy offers DNN 4.0.2 as a value application that you can install thru their hosting control panel.  When installed, the DNN app runs in a Virtual Directory folder, example www.mydomain.com/dnn.  Without any redirects how can i run DNN in the root folder?  Must i have a dedicated server hosting plan? is it possible to do with a shared hosting plan?  I have read plenty about others trying to install dnn manually to a godaddy hosting account, i dont believe anyone was successfull and if they were it wasn't clear how or what they did.  Any input would be greatly appreciated.

    Hello,

From reading around the forums with how people struggle with GoDaddy even for working with skins, I wouldn't use them.

You can select a shared hosting plan with any of the providers listed here: http://www.dnncreative.com/Forum/ta...fault.aspx

do a manual install and you have full functionality with no problems. - You can run it in the root folder so it will be your domain name without any folders at the end of it. - Makes much more sense to me than going with GoDaddy, but that's just my opinion.

It's worth having a read in the link above at various peoples opinions on the hosting providers and then you can see what will suit your needs. - This site is running on a shared hosting plan if that gives you an idea of the performance that you can get from shared hosting.

    Thanks,
