    Hi Friends,

I am Vimal, a designer. I am basically a web designer. I am new to dotnetnuke. I was experimenting with my dotnetnuke skin, I replaced the "top panel - left panel - content panel" table with my own html code. After uploading the file, I am not able to do anything on my server.  Please help!!!

I am not able to login to the website also, nor take the forum page or event page. All page shows the same page I have uploaded. Is there anyway I could getinto my account and restore my skin ???

    Please help!!!

    Thank you

    Kind Regards
    Vimal

Always make a backup of your web directory and your database!

That said, if you look in the site's web directory, delete the directory that contains the skin that you installed. That should be enough to cause DotNetNuke to use a default skin.

You should probably NEVER change the administrative skin, or at least use one that is part of DotNetNuke. That will save you some problems, but probably not from this particular problem.

You can also create a child portal with a secret name and leave it with defaults. Then, you can probably log in as superuser to something on your site to remove skins, etc.

    Thanks a lot Joe.

I will try deleting the dnn skin directory and will let you know the result.

I hope that you understood that you should delete the skin that causes the problem, but none of the others ...

Another tip when working on new skins is to just apply the skin to one page. This way, if the skin causes problems, you can simply delete the test page without causing problems to your entire DotNetNuke installation.
