    Just thought I should use Lee Sykes Red Leaf Skin for a quick web design.

    But I just got stuck with an urgent problem.

    I’m testing the “red leaf skin”, but I’m not getting my web pages to show in the vertical house-menu??

    What am I doing wrong??

    THANKS

     Olle….

    Morning Olle,

    The skin works fine in 4.5.1 - from the images you sent to me it appears as though you have installed the skin before installing the house menu skin object.

    You will need to uninstall the red leaf skin and then install the house menu skin object again.  Once you've done this you can install the red leaf skin and the skin should pick up the house menu.

    Thanks,

    Lee

    Thanks for the help guys!!!

    The HouseMenu is now alive and working. – As per Lee’s instructions.

    But I can’t figure out the pane widths on this CSS skin, I changed it around a bit but doesn’t really have any control.

    Initially the content in the left pane was put down, but now I changed it to push down content in the right pane?

    New Values to the right:

    /* Main Layout */

    #mainbody

        width: 71%; / 85

    }

    #content

        width: 70.6%; / 76

    }

    #sidebar

        width: 25.4%; / 20

    }

    #sidebar-2

        width: 15%; /  17

    }

    #footercontent

        padding-top: 10px;

    }

    It is probably due to the content you have added to the content pane, if you add an image that is too wide it will cause problems.  Do you have a URL to show as an example?

    Good Morning – I’m back.

    The problem I have with the “Red Leaf Skin” is probably in reading the code:

    Which class determents the position of the content pane?

    The HouseMenu is to the right side of the left pane, can I centre it?

    How do I set a max width on the content pane?

    What does the “#Mainbody” class control?

    At the moment I have a wide gap between left Pane and Content Pane, and an approximately “overlap” on the content pane and the right pane. Causing the right pane to position below the content pane??

    I did go through 12 tutorials yesterday – but maybe it was too late in the end.

    Cheers Mates..

    PS. There are no images, just plain text on the page.

    Hi Olle,

    Looking at it, I think this maybe caused by the HouseMenu itself - v1.4beta displays a line and spacing to the left whereas v1.3 displays the menu correctly. - I will send across to you v1.3 as I don't think Tim has put it up for download yet after he moved his site. - All you have to do is re-install it and the skin will pick it up without having to re-install the skin. - See if that solves the problem, thanks,

    Lee

    Hi Smacksnr.

    Lee is probably faster than me, but otherwise you can give me an E-mail address and I forward the latest HouseMenu file.

    And Many Thanks to Lee, I just installed v1.3 and it looks a lot better.

    Now the menu spread out and use the whole left pane, and I also have indenting and sub-menu colours working properly.

    Thanks Guys!!!

    PS. Lee, I did put a couple of links to your site from goldcoastwebwiz.com - any objections?

    Hello,

    I've just sent an e-mail to Tim to request him to make available house menu version 1.3 for download.

    Thanks for the link Olle, that's great, I've e-mailed across to you the new DNN Creative logo that we will be using when I re-skin the site -  hopefully this month!

    Thanks,

    Thanks for that Info and warning.

    I will see if I can find someone using the DNN Store Modules. It’s not a Module you want a stack of Bugs in.

    What system are you using Lee?

    About the Google Search Box.

    After I got the HouseMenu working and the page looked OK, I added a Text Module in the content pane and set it to display on all pages.

    After I put in the Google Code it pushed down both Left and Right Pane content below the Content pane. On one page it moved an existing content Module to the bottom pane.

    Finally I wasn’t able to delete this Modules, I had to go in and remove the Google Code before I could delete the Module's!!

    Anyone had similar problems?

    Anyone using the Google Search box?

    Cheers

    All I use is www.ventrian.com subscription tools in DNN Creative.

    - A technique I always use when experimenting with new skins / modules / code is to apply it to a new page only and then fully test it. If you then come across problems you can then easily delete the page without corrupting your portal.

    (POST edited to prevent Google code running)

    DNN and Google Search Form.

    As to Mitchel Sellers instructions:

    I entered the code without the
    Tags> (See Below) and at leaset it doesn’t mess up my entire site any longer.

    But I can’t figure out where to fit in the “Button Action Code” ???

    Google Code supplied – not yet installed:

    method="get" action="http://www.google.com.au/custom" target="google_window">

    JAVA Script? (From Mitchel)

    onClick="this.form.action='YourUrlHere';this.form.submit();"

    Existing Code (without form tags) copied from a DNN Module:

    Olle,

    I would really appreciate if you could send me the HouseMenu v1.3. I was hoping that after Lee said he sent an e-mail about getting it put back up that it would be soon. I guess Tim is swamped at his new job.

    Anyway,  thanks.
