After upgrading a local DNN instance on my test/experiment PC to DNN 7.3 the cut/copy/paste features in the default DNN HTML editor no longer worked. The previous version incidentally was 7.2.

Since the default editor was broken, I downloaded and installed the latest CKEditor module to replace it. Well, I discovered that this FREE editor is fantastic. In fact the default DNN HTML module is primitive by comparison. So my question is: Why isn't the CKEditor the standard in the CE of DNN. Is there a good reason for this?

I think that you'll need to ask the folks at DNN Corporation about that one.

The good news is that the Provider Model implement in DNN permits implementation of alternatives to pretty much every feature.

I assume that you are not able to switch back to WYSIWYG mode?

Could you post a screen shot?

    Which version of DNN?

DNN is moving to use of the CK Editor as the default editor. I think that it's scheduled for DNN 7.4.

It looks like you are in Basic Text Box mode. Check the radio button for Rich Text Editor.

This should be sticky once you have made this choice and updated the module.

Hmmm. Are there any entries in the Event Log that reference this?

And this is for all administrators?

You did say this happened "suddenly." No changes, no new modules, no upgrades?

It's very odd. Are there any javascript errors? (Use browser developer tools to check)

Short of that, I'd need to look at the site to see if I can find anything. You can use the contact form at patapscoresearch.com to contact me privately.
