I downloaded all the required files via web installer, but when I try to browse locally to dotnetnuke to start the install process, I get a DotNetNuke Error

Connection To The Database Failed


I tried creating a dotnetnuke DB with a new user that I created with DBO permissions, but that also did not work.

Any suggestions?

I have had minimal success using the web installer. I find the basic Install Package much easier to use.

1. Create the database and user with correct permissions.
2. Unzip the Install Package into a suitable directory.
3. Create an IIS website
4. Establish the correct permission on the web directory (Step 2) by giving permissions to the AppPool Identity (Step3)
5. Browse to the site and let the wizard do its thing.
