Hi Joe, this is a basic one.

    But I haven't done Sub=sites / aliases for a very long time.

Do you have a good tutorial for this?

    Cheers

Found it in an older version under "PORTALS".

But where is it hiding these days?

    Just installed; DotNetNuke 6.2.6

Thought I figured it out under Site Management -

But I get a 404 error when I try to open the site???

There was an error sending confirmation emails - There is a problem with the configuration of your SMTP Server. Mail was not sent.. However, the website was created. Click Here To Access the new site

404 - File or directory not found.
The resource you are looking for might have been removed, had its name changed, or is temporarily unavailable.

Am on the right track Joe?

    Ollle,

    You're probably quite close.

How did you name the site and is it a parent or child? What URL did DotNetNuke assign (Go to the main portal Portals page and look there.)

As for SMPT, use the Host Settings page for SMTP settings (It is the same for all portals) and use the test link to verify that it can send to any address). Report those results, too.

    Thanks Joe.
(Go to the main portal Portals page and look there.)
Are there still a "Portals Tab" somewhere 6.2.6 ?

    I have the following under "Site Management";
[Edit this Site] 1 Dating & Relationships www.mepys.com/dating
    1 31 0 0.00
[Edit this Site] 0 My Website www.mepys.com
    1 31 0 0.00
[Edit this Site] 2 Tatoos & Body piercing www.mepys.com/tatoo
    1 31 0 0.00

I might have stuffed up the parent and child thing - will see if I find that settings.

    Cheers

    Joe.

Yes, I did forget to select "Child" Portal.

Now re-registered as Child and working.
