    Hi

After much frustration trying all sorts of variations myself and contacting the reseller tech team without a successful conclusion I wonder if anyone here can shed some light?

I have watched (over and over again) Lee's creating a parent Portal to use a subdomain.

The advice in the Reseller Choice interface seems very logical and straight forward. Unfortunately my reseller uses websitepanel (http://websitepanel.net/) which seems to be a very common interface for Microsoft based servers.

The interface can create a subdomain web space into which you can ftp your own files.

Clearly this is not needed as a DNN portal is self-contained in the original TLD host folder.

Within the websitepanel interface in the TLD website area there is a 'headers section' which by default has the first field completed (see screenshot attached)

    Header Name = X-Powered-By
    Header Value = ASP.NET

Does anyone know what needs to go in these fields for the sub domain dnn portal to work correctly? It doesn’t seem t work no matter what I do and at present resolves to res://ieframe.dll/http_403.htm#http://Mywebsite...

The documentation for websitepanel is rubbish and unless you are very familiar with DNN the tech support people for the hosting don’t seem to have a clue.

You DNS for the subdomain should point to the IP address of the server.

Your site should have entries in the PortalAlias table that identify the URL for the site.

You shouldn't have to do anything more than that.

Reseller Choice identifies themselves are providing DotNetNuke hosting. Their tech support folks should be able to help you get this set up if you are having trouble.

    Thanks for your reply.

As per above I dont use Reseller Choice I UK host that has WebsitePanel as the control panel.

In Lee's video tutorial he shows the Host Header settings in the Reseller Choice Control Panel which is fine, easy to understand but the same principles apply to other hosts which are very scant in documentation to say the least.

I think in the absence of anyone that uses Websitepanel I will install it as a new standalone subdomain site. Probably the more resilient option anyway.

If anyone does succeed in CyberhostPro or similar in hosting services I would appreciate a post here.

Thanks for getting back to me.
