I've been experimenting with banner advertising because of a client who wanted to have links to two different pages on their website. I wasn't sure how to accomplish this at first and still be able to know how many times the ad had been clicked on. Here's what I did.
- created two separate text ads and assigned them the same group.
- set both ads using HTML with the text ads options and added the pages our client wanted linked the ads linked to (a different link on each ad).
- temporarily added both instances through banner ads options.
- copied the link info for each add (a short cut I know of now is just copy the link info once and change the banner id number to = the banner you want linked to)
- added an href in the html for the ad I display on my website
- removed both instances
- changed the group name of one of the ads to ensure I only display one of the ads.
- set the banner options to display the one ad which now has two links.
If this sounds confusing you can take a look at the ad on our home page to get a better idea of how it's done and what I mean by linking to two different pages through one ad.
