Problem - Backup live to local host

    Hi Lee,

    Your tutorials are just so great ! I followed your tutorials and finally able to install dnn4.5.5 to my local host for the first time (something that I has not able to do for along time using the dnn core method).

    Then I also follow your tutorials for Backup live to local host ... then at the last step when I type in the adress of the new local host  URL eg http://localhost/mywebsite  then instead of staying in the localhost it just go directly to my live site URL http://www.mywebsite !!

    So what do I have to do to connect to my local host only ?

     FYI I use Ventrian friendly URL in the live site (and hence the Backup localhost)

    You probably need to make an adjustment to your portal alias table for the site. That will need to point at localhost/mywebsite and not to mywebsite.

    Glen,

    Do you have any problem with images, like the one I have ?
    See here.
    It is very problematic for me, each dnn install have a 'relative path' /mydnnfolder and it creates problems with images.

    Good tip on the FCK Editor, but for image links transforming from localhost to live you need to look at:

    Find and Replace SQL queries for DotNetNuke
    (To fix problems after transferring a localhost database to a live website and other useful functions)
