    Hi Lee

In your tutorial (Issue 19 xhtml complient) you edit a line in the web.config file:

    xhtmlConformance mode=Legacy

However, this above line is not present ( I can't find it) in DNN 4.5.3 web.config file, what do you suggest, add the line or edit elsewhere?

    Thanks

Oops, sorry, I was too hasty to post, I have just found that you address this matter in "issue 20".

    Hi Lee

In Issue 20 you supply the valid XHTML codes for DNN versions 441 and 451. Can you please tell me if the DNN 451 code are suitable for DNN 453 in particular the WebUtility.dll file, or do they require modification?

    Thanks

    Hi Lynn,

I'm snowed under at the moment doing the videos for the next issue. - I haven't tested 4.5.3 yet for XHTML compliance. - It should be pretty straight forward though by just going through the changes in the tutorial and checking them with the code in 4.5.3.

I have recently been on the phone to Cathal Connelly (core team) who is looking after changing DNN to be XHTML compliant and he is implementing steps to apply the changes I outlined in the videos. - You should find that as each new release is made, less changes need to be made.

(I suspect the webUtility file will still need the changes, but you will have to double check the source code)

    Thanks,

    Lee

    Hi Lee

Thanks for the reply. It sounds encouraging that DNN are now beginning to apply XHTML complient coding more and more.

I will look forward to installing a fully XHTML complient out of the box DNN and modules, but I suspect we are a long way off yet, or are we?

    Thanks,

    Lynn

I think the modules are a way off, but core code XHTML compliant may be with us within a year ....

The core teams concerns are that code changes may break older installations, so they have to do a lot of testing before releasing any changes.

    Thanks,
