Hi there. I have a DNN website and occasionally I have to make edits to CSS, etc. l am probably doing it the hard way. I FTP the file local, edit in Notepad++, then upload again, then refresh my browser to view the change.

After watching your tutorials I reckon I am doing it the hard way. Perhaps Visual Studio Express is the ticket. I searched here but didn't find a video helping me get started with the tool. I googled the 'nets but the videos I found were disappointing. Does DNNCreative have such a video?

We are about to embark on a skin update and I should probably sharpen my skills before getting started. Please advise.

What you are doing is a reasonable approach. Visual Studio would replace Notepad++, and you will still need the FTP part if the files reside on a local server.

As for sharpening your skills, our tutorials on building skins should be helpful. It would make sense for you to create a local DNN install to simplify the edit/update/reload browser part.

At the level of creating skins and editing CSS and js files, you can think of VS as a somewhat smarter text editor than Notepad++.
