    Hello

The content of my website is written in English, but I also need to provide the content in German. Fortunately, DNN provides a mechanism to support multilingual websites. My concern however is that I need the default language/culture to be German so that when someone goes to the website the content appears in German. If the user wants to read the content in English then a click on the US, Canadian, UK, etc, flag will accommodate that request.

Question: If I select the default language to be German, but the reference language is actually English, won't this mess up the concept behind the manual translation process since I will be working backwards? I don't want to paint myself into a corner so if anyone has any suggestions or general tip & tricks on this subject I'd be grateful.

    Thanks
    Daniel

    Daniel,

I'm not completely sure about this one. My recollection is that you can only pick the default language once and I think that you do this when you turn on the functionality for multiple languages. Once you've enabled it, you can't turn it off.

I'd also recommend the Localization forums at dnnsoftware.com. The resident experts on multilanguage sites there are Sebastian Leupold and Eric vanB.
