I set my custom profile to display name only once, and I set "Require a Valid Profile for Registration off".  When i register I give a FirstName, LastName, Display Name, password. Now if I go to the Profile, the FirstName/LastName are copied over correctly.  But, if I change either one of them in the Profile, it does not update the Credential Name, and I end up with two different names in the database, for the same user.

Am I doing something wrong?  The names updated correctly in the tutorial, but that was before you eliminated one of the redundant names in the Profile, and you had "Require a Valid Profile for Registration" turned on.

    thanks.

    Hello,

You are correct. I thought I tested this in 4.3.4 and could have sworn it worked, but I've just tried it in 4.3.5 and you are definitely correct.

I would just suggest that you remove the visibility for first and last name in profile properties and then you will only be editing one version of the name.

    Hope this helps,

    FYI

I'm running 4.3.4.   Perhaps certain combinations work and others don't?

Ah right! - I'm positive I tested it and had it working, perhaps I didn't?!

But it does seem like a bug in DNN. I would just try to find a workaround to suit your needs / setup.
