The lack of replies is probably more due to the lack of anwers.  For me, I'm a couple of issues behind in going through the OWS tutorials.  Hopefully others who have been working with OWS will check in.

    SOLVED the first bit

You must select the isKey onthe Grid as well as Vew and Edit.

..in hindsight its obvious isnt it !

    EDIT not working
Now I have a nice display, choosing the fields for the grid and view fields makes it look good. The delete is a little too quick for my taste but at least I know it is instantaneous !

When I select EDIT from the grid and change a field.... nothing happens except the record disappears (refresh the page and it returns to the grid) but the changed record has not been saved ! mmmm....

If anyone else wants to join in this thread they are welcome !!

    100222,

It sounds like you might have kept some code from video #1 which is using quickbuilder. There may be a bug with QuickBuilder and the EDIT links, but you might have to confirm with the developer of OWS.

In any event, if you use the EXPORT option on the ribbon toolbar, select all the code, copy and paste to a text file, and upload it here as an attachment, we can take a look at the code and see what it is doing.

    Thanks for your reply

I have been following vid1, 2 3 and hence believe have only dealt with the quickbuilder
If there is a bug in quickbuilder then it has correctly stopped me dead in progressing

I could not see the point of continuing with later vids - but I think you implying that the bug in quickbuilder will only effect vid 1/2/3 so it may not be wasteful to continue ?

I attach the file. OWS developer actually offers there own video training which I was ignoring in favour of dnnCreative. I have not found any relevant errors in OWS site but will check again. I would prefer to continue with dnnCreative style if possible

    shall I try vid4 ??

    Ok I am back!
I have just finished Video 5 (part 2 of 6)
Got an issue here - the edit link simply does not work
I will check again - but any help would be appreciated !

Concerning the issue of the recorded disappearing causing you to refresh the page refer to this post at R21 Open Web Studio. http://www.openwebstudio.com/Commun...fault.aspx

Look at debug to check, but I had trouble with Edit/Update.
The problem for me was the date format.
    You must use mm/dd/yyyy
