DNN 7 with Form and List Module

I upgraded to DNN7 and have been a member of DNN Creative. I have a Church website and don't have a lot of money to spend.
I have noticed the lack of functionality that used to come with DNN5 and what I have found with DNN7 has been sub par.
The Form and List is the latest issue. Cannot figure out hot to re-order or insert new items. Arrows from DNN5 an 6 are missing.

There used to be a Plain Text option but now only Rich Text which is too much for a basic form.

There are lots of places in the module where I can find no information on what to put in there, but if you put the wrong thing it does not work. All the tutorials I have seen talk about the obvious and skip all the non-clear stuff. Nothing from tutorials on how to make the form look a little better.

Also is a pain that all the for-profit modules advertise free so that it comes up like that in the DNN store, but really is only free trials.

Only feedback I have found is from Joe.

Is it time for me as user with a limited resource budget to switch to some other CMS? Is DNN only for the commercial space now?

Your video tutorials are not available for my IPad!
They are not in streaming and it is only possible to download them in zip format!
Why you don't update dnncreative web site for viewing in compatibile way like HTML5?!

I have been a subscriber since august 2008, and DNNCreative.com is simply the best DNN Portal, their tutorials are easy to understand and a complete delight to have by your side while your nukeing.

Lee and the rest of the staff are extremely helpful and it shows that they enjoy helping.

I was unsure at first if DNNCreative would actually be of help and be worth the money. After watching 2 sets of videos all concerns where gone. With no knowledge of DNN or ASP, DNNCreative has shown me how skin my own sites easily and quickly.

I was floundering in a sea of DNN online videos and free articles and resources and reading hundreds or messages in various forums and getting nowhere. I found this site, decided to take the plunge and only one week later, I have progressed more than in a month of self directed education.

All kidding aside, I'm glad I found your site. I'm positive I would never have progressed as far as I have without your help. You and your team are an extremely valuable resource.

Just a quick note to thank you for the wonderful work you do raising the level of understanding of the DNN framework. Your tutorials tackle important technical and operational subjects in a clear concise way; and, are pitched at exactly the right level (for me at least).

This website with all of its videos and resources have been, by far, the best help that I have received yet!! Anyone who is trying to understand how to work with dotnetnuke should subscribe to this website. So far, it has been well worth the money.

Lee goes over these videos step by step how to write skins, containers, create modules, how to work with the existing core modules.

Highly recommended.

I'm a less-than-year user of the DNN Community Edition. Starting out, I've had to design my own skin because this is a State of California government web site, implement a private portal site through registrant vetting, enable an interactive user form using Dynamic Forms for annual reporting for some 2000 plus registrants, and import legacy applications into our portal. And that's just the software platform side of it.

My comment is that I could not have done any of this with as much grace if it hadn't been for the quality of the the video training offered by you and DNN Creative. Yours was the first DNN training service I encountered a year ago, and it has worked. For this I give you .

Nav menu skinning

I have been looking around the Internet for some good tutorial about nav menu skinning.

Your site always came up on top in the google search.

After a few days I thought ok I'll give them a try.

I started with the DotNetNuke Nav Menu v2, Custom Login Module OWS, Styling App with RAD tutorial.

In the beginning of the tutorial you recommended that I'd what a previous tutorial about the NavMenu to be familiar with the basics and in that tutorial you recommended that I should watch yet another tutorial.

So I did.

This was the best thing I have ever done in my entire career as a web developer.

The tutorials where as perfect as they can be. I love the tempo in them, I love the how you describe everything without going in to what happened back in the day (which is a sickness amongst IT people usually).

You described how everything works in a way that suited me better than I could ever dream of.

I finally understood that final missing piece I have had gnawing in th back of my mind about the thought of DotNetNuke.

This was by far the best value for money I have ever experienced in my entire life!

I went around smiling the entire weekend and talked about your tutorials to everyone I met.

I can't wait to continue with the other tutorials.

DNN Creative - swings a decision

For those people who use DNN commercially. When given a choice between an incumbent supplier and their proprietary CMS and using the "unknown" Dot Net Nuke being able to say “here is my tutorial base and support stream swung the decision”. Add to this the mass of ready modules on Snowcovered.com became a no brainer. Regards Dave

I have been using DNN for some time, and been looking to expand my knowledge and do some Module maintenance and development. The bit holding me back was to get a working development environment.

I had seen and used other video tutorials but to no effect, they made it too complex, configuring IIS and SQL Server.

I followed the tutorial on this site and Hey! Presto it sprang into life.

I'm starting my hourney but completely love the video tutorials I've watched so far.

Just wanted to add my tuppence worth and say keep up the great work - I'll certainly be renewing my subscription when it's up for a second year.

DNNCreative is always my first port of call for all things DNN. Good, informative videos that I come back to time and again. Your "uploading to a live site" series really saved me time when I was up against a tight deadline.

Great to see you doing the vids on Dynamic Forms - like me you obviously recognise what a great module that is. Combined with CataLOOK (and DNN itself of course!) it enabled me to get my first 4 DNN sites up and running relatively quickly.

Good tools are nothing without the right people behind them explaining there "in's and out's" and you boys at DNNCreative certainly do that.

Seriously. I shouldn't say this but they are undercharging for the content here. This site turned DNN from an obscure concept to a fully understood powerful application. Anyone can learn DNN using this site.

Because of this site I am going to start offering DNN websites to my clients. As an IT consultant, the value of this site is unmeasurable. Thanks for your hard work!

January 7th 2009 and I feel like I have learned a years worth of material just by watching about 10 video's. I learned by listening, watching and reading. This is the best way to learn because you are using all 3 senses.

If you are teetering on whether to subscribe or not...... Take the plunge this has to be the best education you will receive on the DotNetNuke technology. Thanks Lee and Joe...
