How to link from dnnmodal popup to web site page?

Hello all.
I am using a dnnmodal.show popup. The popup works correctly, showing the content that I want in the popup. However, I want to allow the user to click and go to another page on the same portal. The below code works in an html module, but when in a popup it only closes the popup and does nothing else.

Help with Cycle Image Carousel not displaying images

Hi,
I have a Cycle Image Carousel on a DNN 5.5 website that just stopped working suddenly? Not sure why, maybe jquery conflict?

and the carousel is the top right image of the young people with the hoppy horse.

Any ideas how to go about diagnosing the problem?

Trying to update content

Hi There,
Hope i've put this in the right spot. This is my site www.mazeaccounting.com.au. the office address has changed so I am trying to update the address contained in the contact info section & the google map on the bottom section of the home page.
When on the home page, i click edit page & all modules become editable except the two sections i want to update. The copyright footer below them is editable.
I am a DNN beginner and did not build the site, i have searced everywhere... clicked every clickable option to try and find where this content can be modified.
Its driving me nuts.
Thought i could use a search & replace extension(not sure if it would work), search for existing address and maps iframe and replace with new BUT would prefer to do it the right way and edit it properly.. Can anyone point me in the right direction.
When viewing home page i can inspect element and view the bits i want to edit... So close and yet so far.

Site organization

I am trying to understand some video organization on the site. I need to learn Bootstrap with DNN and this is certainly where I need to be. But... When looking for Bootstrap, I find a series starting in March of 2013 and I guess a couple related videos in April 2013. Then there is a series in November 2013 that seems very similar to the first set. Then there is another group of Bootstrap videos in February of 2014. Can you explain the best way to approach this? Why so much seemingly duplicated content?

Also, Some of the videos are hosted on your site with Flash players and others are downloadable. Can you clarify this for me?

There are just two simple rules:

1. Make DNN backups regularly. Once a month is reasonable for sites that don't change often, and don't include user contributed content or user registrations.

2. NEVER do an upgrade, install a module, or do extensive modifications to a site without having made a current backup.

I mention this after several weeks of working with a site that had problems and the owner attempted to upgrade to DNN8 in an effort to solve the problem. There are several problems with that approach. Naturally, the upgrade failed, leaving a dead site, partially upgraded, and I'm still trying to find a way to do the upgrade successfully.

Knockout.js issue with the page "Edit" mode

Hello there,

I hope someone could help me with this problem. I recently created a DNN module using mainly Knockout.js to dynamically retrieve and display data on a HTML grid.

I created a module shell, added the module to a new page, made a reference to the knockout.js library/source code on my server 4 and added the code to the ascx file for the module.

Everything seemed working perfectly at this point. The content is correctly displayed on the page.

However, when I clicked on "Edit Page" button, a code statement showed up on top of the "Edit" button. Here is the statement

Please see attached the image file to show the problem.

Page is no longer editable.

I was wondering if anyone knows how I can solve the issue. Any help would be greatly appreciated!

MP4 file not playing in Mac Safari

Hi,

I am facing an issue with playing MP4 video file on Mac SAFARI.

using DNN Version: 07.04.01

Scenario
- I have Secured Directory at Portal/0/. Secured Directory name is: "DNNVideos".

- Folder permissions are set for "Registered Users" only. not for "All Users". This means only authorized user can access the Video.

- I have one demo.mp4 file into the DNNVideos directory. After the Directory Sync, the physical file became "demo.mp4.resources"

- I have a module where I have a Anchor Link which opens the Video file upon clicking on it.

- Anchor source has been set using following code:
string fileSource = "Portals/" + PortalId + "/LinkClick.aspx?fileticket=" + fi.FileId.ToString() + "&portalid=" + PortalId + "×tamp=" + DateTime.Now.ToString("yyyyMMddHHmmssfff");

- On the site, log in using Valid User and go to the page where video link is provided.

- Clicking on the Link will open the video in the Browser itself. This is what is required to play video in Browser.

- This functionality works verywell with the Chrome, IE, FireFox.

- But it fails with the Mac Safari Browser.

- The link generated is: http://dnndev.me/LinkClick.aspx?fileticket=qKjU_dmQass%3d&portalid=0×tamp=1453212257638

- One weird thing I noticed that if i change the Permission (from DNN File Management) of the secured folder to Read+Write for "All Users" then it works fine with Mac Safari as well.

- But this cannot be the solution since I need to protect the file from anonymous users.

How to Display pdf in Modal Popup

Hi all

I want to display a pdf document inside a modal popup. Opening the pdf by linking it lets the user inadvertently leave the web site. However, in a modal, clicking the X in the corner of the popup keeps the user on the site.

Note: I already have page and module content displaying in popups. That's not the issue. The problem is getting a pdf to do the same. Are there any alternatives short of turning the pdf into a jpg or png? This is not a good choice because it would require constant attention as the pdf documents change frequently.

Responsive Table needs "dynamic" row labels

I have added responsive css to change a wide table with many columns and data into one single column for devices below 760px width. Issue with getting content labels.

I have a dynamic table that displays a schedule of tournaments. This table has a set nuber of columns with specific headings. When the responsive css takes affect for devices 760px and below it converts pretty bell into one long column of multiple cells. However, the column headers now need to become row headers. I can fix this for the tournament page within my css code to work fine.

The issue becomes there are multiple tables within this customized DNN website. So the css hard coded row labels will then be the same on any table. I need to see what can be done to allow the column headers on any table can be converted to the row labels when this css responsive code takes affect.

My responsive css for tables on media 760px or smaller is:

Modules in page grid not in a row

I added a new page. Then dragged and dropped HTML modules into a 3 across grid. (3A, 3B and, 3C). With no content added, the modules correctly display in a row. However, after adding content, the modules are stacking, one over the other.
What could be causing this?

For what it's worth, if I use a div class=row set up for 3 columns, the same content displays correctly in 3 columns.

Hello there: I hadn't resubscribed to your site for quite sometime I think the last time I was subscribed until now was soon after lee sykes left dnncreative magazine.

Anyway upon returning I can't find how to download your videos. In those days as long as you were logged in as an active user you could click on a particular video and than you could see all the videos that pertained to a given subject.

For example I just found an old folder I created where I downloaded some of your videos called CREATING DNN PORTAL. Upon looking in it I see that their were 3 zip files called video 1, video 2 and video 3. When extracting these zip files you could watch the video via swf file or flash files.

Now I can't find any place where you store your videos either in zip, swf or even some of the more modern forms like mp4 or perhaps iphone compatible, etc, etc...

In the days of Lee Sykes you could watch the video on your site as you can today but if you were logged in and you scrolled down below the video you would see these various links. I believe one mirror was in chicago, USA and another in England or Australia I can't remember exactly where it was but at any rate their were two distinct download locations that you could chose from depending on your demographics.

So I guess my question is this. Have you eliminated the ability to get your videos via a download link or is it somewhere else that I am just not looking at the right place.

Are you now only allowing your subscribers to view the video via the video player you have embedded or is their still the capability to download them for reference when off line. If you have stopped providing these zip files with video in a downloadable form how come and if you still provide it where is it.

Modify data from a button in a report

I have a custom table containing rows of data and a DNN report that shows those rows. The data source of the report is a SQL Stored Procedure.

I'm actually inserting some html into the report in that stored procedure, including the code to see buttons on each row.

I want a button that will run a stored procedure that would delete the row of data when clicked.

Does anyone have a suggestion on how to wire up that button to do that?
