In this video tutorial we demonstrate working with the site logs and event logs in DotNetNuke. We first of all demonstrate how to view the logs and we then progress onto how to manage the logs and prevent them from growing to a large size using the scheduler.

This is an essential configuration for all DotNetNuke portals because if you do not configure the logs correctly they can grow to such a large size that your hosting provider may shut down your site until you fix the problem.

DotNetNuke Portal Considerations

You can take advantage of the Portal Alias function when transferring a live DotNetNuke website to a localhost installation or vice versa, making it easy to test any changes to your website.

Working with Vendors, Banners and Affiliates in DotNetNuke

After completing this tutorial, you will have successfully downloaded the Install zip file, created a website, created the database and login for MSSQL 2000, setup the web.config file to work with the database, added an object qualifier (a prefix for all of your table names in the DotNetNuke database), and set up the installation so that you can do multiple installs of DotNetNuke.

In short, you will have a running DotNetNuke website that is ready to build out.
